Radon and methane don’t knock. Ground gases seep up into buildings through floors, junctions and service penetrations — invisible, odourless, and in radon’s case the UK’s second biggest cause of lung cancer after smoking. In affected areas, Building Regulations require a gas barrier — and like any barrier, it only works if it’s continuous.
Our liquid-applied membranes form that continuous barrier by being painted or sprayed on: Passive Purple and Airtight White are independently tested as radon barriers (diffusion coefficient 3.3×10⁻¹² m²/s to ISO/TS 11665-13) and methane / ground-gas barriers (ISO 15105) — while also delivering airtightness and vapour control in the same coat. Ideal for retrofit, where fitting a sheet gas barrier into an existing building is somewhere between miserable and impossible.
