Fred by Intelligent Membranes is an advanced, high-performance fire retardant designed to safeguard spray foam insulation and timber structures from fire hazards. Formulated with cutting-edge fire-resistant technology, Fred provides unparalleled protection while maintaining the structural integrity of your building. Whether you’re working on new builds or retrofits, Fred delivers exceptional safety and peace of mind. This is the White version.

Key Features and Benefits:

  • Fire-Resistant Protection for Spray Foam: Fred is specifically designed to provide effective fire resistance when applied over spray foam insulation, a material often vulnerable to fire risks.
  • Ideal for Timber Structures: Fred is also an excellent solution for timber frame buildings, offering a protective barrier that significantly reduces the risk of fire damage.
  • Simple Application: Available as a liquid-applied product, Fred can be sprayed directly onto surfaces, ensuring seamless coverage and a uniform protective layer.
  • Non-Toxic and Eco-Friendly: Formulated with low VOCs and environmentally-friendly components, making it safe for use in all types of buildings, including those aiming for Net Zero and Passivhaus standards.
  • Tested and Certified: Fred meets the strictest fire safety standards, ensuring your project is compliant with the latest building regulations.

FRED is certified Class A2,-S1, D0.

Fred has a 25 minute Warrington fire test rating – Testing was completed on a load-bearing timber frame wall with a load of 8kN per l/m – Tested to standard BS EN 1365-1 :2012 + corr 2013.

FRED is used inside. In case of external application, it should be coated with a fire retarding flexible coating such as Passive Purple External or local building regulations need to be followed.

If Fred is to be spray applied, it must be applied with an intumescent spray machine. Intelligent Membranes would recommend a TriTech T5 spray machine or a machine with similar specifications.
