Supporting Passivhaus Performance
The Dairy is a high-performance Passivhaus project designed to achieve exceptional levels of energy efficiency, airtightness and occupant comfort. To meet the demanding requirements of Passivhaus construction, the project required a continuous airtight building envelope, robust moisture management and meticulous attention to detail throughout the build.
Passive Purple Airtight Vapour Control Membrane was used across walls, ceilings and critical junctions to create a seamless airtight layer, while Passivhaus Airtight Sealant ensured continuity around windows, doors and service penetrations. Passive Purple External provided a weather-resistant, vapour-permeable protective layer to the external envelope, and Passivhaus Brick Sealer Cream was used to enhance the durability and moisture resistance of the masonry façade.
Through rigorous testing, careful detailing and the use of Intelligent Membranes products, The Dairy demonstrates how intelligent airtightness solutions can help deliver outstanding building performance, reduced energy consumption and long-term sustainability.
